Small Business Innovation Research & Small Business Technology Transfer
Turn your SBIR/STTR innovation into a commercialization strategy
Technical and Business Assistance (TABA) funding can provide eligible SBIR/STTR applicants and awardees with specialized support to help move federally funded technologies toward the marketplace.
Work with UC Riverside's Office of Technology Partnerships and EPIC to develop a customized commercialization strategy aligned with your technology, market and SBIR/STTR project.

What is TABA?
TABA provides SBIR/STTR companies with access to specialized technical and business expertise beyond the core research and development activities supported by their award. Depending on the agency and solicitation, TABA funding may be used for commercialization-focused activities such as market research and validation, intellectual property strategy, regulatory and manufacturing planning, product sales and other specialized business assistance.

A Customized Approach to TABA

Your commercialization needs are unique. Your TABA support should be, too.
UCR'S EPIC works with applicants to identify the technical and business challenges most relevant to their commercialization pathway. Our team then works with the applicant to develop a customized Statement of Work outlining the services appropriate for the company's technology and SBIR/STTR project.
Upon award, EPIC provides and manages the identified support, connecting companies with appropriate expertise while reducing the administrative burden of identifying and managing individual consultants.
